I. Introduction to the salt bath furnace
A salt bath furnace refers to an industrial furnace in which a molten salt liquid is used as a heating medium and the workpiece is immersed in a salt liquid to be heated. According to the working temperature of the furnace, salts such as sodium chloride, potassium chloride, barium chloride, sodium cyanide, potassium cyanide, sodium nitrate and potassium nitrate are usually used as the heating medium. The salt bath furnace has a fast heating rate and a uniform temperature. The workpiece is always heated in the salt liquid, and the surface of the workpiece is attached with a salt film, so that the surface of the workpiece can be prevented from oxidation and decarburization. The salt bath furnace can be used for heat treatment such as quenching, annealing, tempering, cyanidation and aging of carbon steel, alloy steel, tool steel, die steel and aluminum alloy, and can also be used for oxidative heating when precision forging steel.
